About the authors

Maria Regina Arquiza, a recipient of various scholarship grants, has the distinction of being the first to host a radio program for Filipinos in Korea. A development worker by profession under a foreign government agency, she is founding member and former President of Pinoy Iskolars sa Korea (PIKO). She established the award-winning Aklatan sa Kostal Project in Bicol Region together with her family to improve lives through quality education.

Since her first study abroad experience in Japan, Eva Marie Wang has dedicated her time to study abroad advocacy. She served as President of Pinoy Iskolars sa Korea (PIKO) and Executive Committee/Founding Member of Alyansa ng Nagkakaisang Iskolar sa Ibang Bansa (ANIB), an alliance of Filipino student organizations abroad. As a PhD scholar at the Seoul National University, her research focuses on overseas Filipino students and international scholarships.
